'The Protoplasmic Ocean'. Still from movie. 2013
The 'Protoplasmic Ocean' follows a journey to research the antecedents of archaic life at the bottom of the ocean. The discovery prompts a protoplasmic response from the waters which assemble into the animate. The narration relates that the resultant life form is desirous of re-discovering its creator - whoever that may be. It adopts the form of a petroglyph derived from plasma structures of the Paleolithic.
The voice-over is supplied by manipulated text to speech software. The movie was filmed on the island of Arran in Scotland.
